{"id":10231,"date":"2022-04-05T18:09:03","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T18:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goglobalpost.com\/?p=10231"},"modified":"2025-05-09T05:00:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-09T12:00:43","slug":"usps-surcharge-changes-for-april-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goglobalpost.com\/blog\/usps-surcharge-changes-for-april-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"USPS Surcharge Changes for April 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"189\">Delayed USPS surcharges from their January 2022 rate changes will be introduced beginning April 3rd for oversized packages with sides over 22\u201d or 30.\u201d To help avoid getting an additional surcharges on your GAP Domestic shipments, we\u2019ve included more information about what these surcharges are and which services will be affected.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"521\"><strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">What are surcharges?<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen packages don\u2019t follow USPS regulations or dimensional changes, USPS can add extra fees, or surcharges, to shipments. Once scanned in to their system, USPS will check the dimensions of your package to confirm they match the measurement requirements of your selected service. If these measurements differ, USPS can issue surcharges to your packages. The surcharges received for multiple orders with the same, incorrect dimensions can quickly add up. Also, these shipments can take longer to process because USPS may have to take additional steps to correct the service.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"1116\"><strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">What are the new surcharges?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn April, USPS is going to charge more for really long and really big packages. These charges apply to Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Retail Ground, and Parcel Select, and these changes will not apply to Media Mail or First-Class Package Service. These surcharges will also be applied to both domestic and commercial shipments.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"1486\">This means shipments with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-renderer-start-pos=\"1516\">Sides longer than 22\u201d will be subject to $4 fees,<\/li>\n<li data-renderer-start-pos=\"1569\">Sides longer than 30\u201d or over 2 cubic feet (3,456\u201d) will be subject to $15 fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"1653\"><em data-renderer-mark=\"true\">*Note: Your package\u2019s cubic measurements can be found using [ Length x Width x Height ] \/ 1728.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"1949\"><strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">Can I dispute an adjustment or surcharge?<\/strong><br \/>\nFor any questions about adjustments or surcharges received on your packages, reach out to GlobalPost\u2019s support team directly at (888) 899-1255 or <a class=\"sc-1ko78hw-0 fiVZLH\" title=\"mailto:support@goglobalpost.com\" href=\"mailto:support@goglobalpost.com\" data-renderer-mark=\"true\">support@goglobalpost.com<\/a>.
